Our services cost-effectively enable NHS and private patients to be cared for at home in a safe and reassuring manner, by highly trained professional nurses, physiotherapists and healthcare assistants.

MediHome started caring for patients in 2002

We began caring for patients after elective surgery operations. Our innovative approach in providing acute care at home was developed to support a ground breaking fast-track surgery operation undertaken by leading surgeon Professor Lord Ara Darzi. The story of that case featured in the NHS Modernisation Board Report in 2004.

Having proved the operational model with planned surgery, we subsequently extended it to include care for patients after unplanned operations and hospital admissions for medical conditions. The service now also provides GPs, community matrons and A&E doctors with a beneficial and cost-effective alternative to hospital care for patients whose principal need is for nursing care.
