Hospitals and clinics working with MediHome
Our best-practice model of care has been developed in close cooperation with NHS and private sector hospitals and clinics. It aims to save money, provide enhanced patient experiences and improve clinical outcomes.
An innovative approach to acute care
Both the NHS and the private sector use our acute home healthcare nursing service. We work closely with hospital physicians, surgeons, GPs, community matrons and other clinicians, as well as NHS managers and health insurers, to provide home healthcare that enables patients to recover in their own homes, cost-effectively easing the constant pressure on resources.
MediHome development timeline
We began our acute homecare service in 2002, providing nursing support for patients following elective surgery. Having proved that operational model, we extended our service to include acute healthcare at home for patients following unplanned operations and hospital admissions for a range of medical conditions – both acute and chronic. Our service now also provides an alternative to an inpatient admission for people who would otherwise be in hospital.
During 2006 we started treating NHS patients in larger numbers, using our 'virtual ward' model in collaboration with NHS hospitals and PCTs.
