Mr W had suffered
from osteoarthritis for many years but was otherwise in reasonable
health for his age. The anticipated hospital stay after his knee
replacement was seven days, however Mr W was discharged into
MediHome’s care on day three following his operation.
MediHome provided a
range of services, including intensive home physiotherapy, regular
nursing visits during the day, morning support with washing and
dressing from a home care assistant and daily reports were made
throughout the period to the consultant on the patient’s progress.
On day six, when Mr
W could perform a straight leg raise and bend his knee through 90
degrees, and when his normal in-patient stay would have ended,
MediHome was able to stop home nursing care.
NB The following case studies
illustrate how a variety of patients have benefited from care by MediHome
Nurses. These case studies are
based on real situations and refer to actual services provided by MediHome
but the precise details have been modified to protect the identity of individual patients. |
