Mr C, a 74 year old
man caring for his disabled wife, was diagnosed by his GP with a
urinary tract infection following 2 days of increasing frequency
and difficulty passing urine, lower abdominal pain and reduced
temperature.
The GP referred the
patient to MediHome for the administration of intravenous
antibiotics at home. The patient was referred for an urgent
appointment with a urology consultant and renal ultrasound.
MediHome Nurses visited twice daily for five days obtaining urine
and blood samples, administering IV antibiotics and slow IV fluids
for rehydrating the patient.
NB The following case studies
illustrate how a variety of patients have benefited from care by MediHome
Nurses. These case studies are
based on real situations and refer to actual services provided by MediHome
but the precise details have been modified to protect the identity of individual patients. |
